What
Add depth to your practice with the support of essential oils. Yoga and aromatherapy are traditionally linked through the holistic medical system Ayurveda. Gandah is the sanskrit word used for smell and the practice of using our sense of smell during practice. Since antiquity, plant based perfumes were used to massage muscles before and help calm the mind and increase focus during practice.
Our sense of smell is directly linked to the limbic system (the part of the brain that triggers memories and emotions associated with these memories). Yoga practice, be it physical, breath work or mediation, involves processing our experiences and emotions. Add aroma to your asanas and you have an explosive holistic practice where you work on your whole body physically, emotionally and spiritually.
